Do preparation the day before so the event window is used for Eggs, not inventory management.

1. Put a working axe in the active inventory.
2. Equip combat gear separately from the axe.
3. Carry HP and MP recovery.
4. Clear enough inventory space for combat drops and the blueprint.
5. Visit Town once and choose an efficient park-centered route.
6. Preserve a save before the festival day if the event is important.
7. Finish time-consuming farm chores early or leave them for after the contest.

The Mayor says any old Axe can smash the Eggs. That confirms no specific axe tier is required by the event dialogue. A stronger axe may feel convenient in general play, but this page does not claim it changes Egg hit count, spawn rate, or score without direct evidence.

Combat gear still matters because smashing can trigger an Imposter Egg fight. The axe requirement is for the field interaction; the battle may use the normal equipped weapon and combat menu. Verify the active loadout before the first Egg.

Start the Egg Hunt correctly

• The time is after 9AM and before 6PM.
• The Town state has changed and colorful Eggs can appear.

If the Mayor repeats the waiting dialogue, the time condition has not been met or the event has not transitioned. Leave the conversation, advance past 9AM normally, and speak again. Do not leave Town to force a reset unless the festival state is clearly stuck.

The event dialogue calls the objects “Eggs” in quotation marks because they become Imposter Egg combat encounters. Do not confuse them with normal animal Eggs, Obsidian Eggs, Ghost Eggs, or an inventory gift. The contest objects are found around Town and smashed with an axe.

Sweep Town in a consistent loop

• Preserve enough resources for additional Eggs.

Keep the festival separate from ordinary Egg items

Inventory items named Egg can come from animals, monsters, festivals, or recipes. The contest objects are field targets around Town and transform into Imposter Egg encounters after enough axe hits. They should not be placed in a shipping box, gifted, or cooked as a way to increase the contest score unless the current event explicitly creates an inventory item.
