Elderfield Gift Preferences adds an inventory lookup for NPC gift reactions. It requires Loganxf Mod Loader v1.0.0, which is not included in the gift-mod package. Installing the gift script alone does not satisfy that dependency.

The author is missingNO, uploaded as missingNOsteam. This guide follows the author description reviewed October 15, 2026. The project reads the game’s existing gift-preference system; it does not add or change the underlying preferences.

What the lookup displays

Select a gift item in the inventory and choose Gift Preferences. The screen groups NPCs by loved, liked, neutral, disliked and hated reactions, shows portraits and reports the selected item’s quantity in Primary Storage.

That quantity is not necessarily the amount you are carrying. Before setting out to give a gift, check ordinary inventory separately and reserve anything needed for a quest or recipe. A large storage count does not mean the task copy is already in your bag.

Use the gift guide to compare acquisition routes and reserved items. The lookup answers how characters react; it does not decide whether spending a scarce ingredient is worthwhile for your current progression.

Check the loader dependency first

The author specifically requires Loganxf Mod Loader v1.0.0 and loads the gift script through the ~mods folder. Keep the tilde: ~mods and mods are different folder names.

Follow the loader’s own installation instructions before adding the gift package. A statement about planned official mod support does not establish that any script can be moved into a new folder and work. Likewise, another project’s js/plugins installation is not the documented route for this gift tool.

Before changing the installation, preserve a copy of your save and note the game build and loader version. This gives a concrete starting point if the new menu does not appear. A mod version and the game version describe different components.

Install the gift script

  1. Close the game and confirm Loganxf Mod Loader is installed as instructed by its author.
  2. Open the game directory containing Game.exe and index.html.
  3. Extract ElderfieldGiftPreferences-v1.0.0.zip into that directory.
  4. Confirm ~mods contains both modloader.js and ElderfieldGiftPreferences.mod.js.
  5. Launch and inspect the actions offered for a gift item.

The gift package does not include modloader.js. Its own documented installation does not require editing plugins.js, game_messages.csv or copying its script into js/plugins/. If the required loader is absent, address that dependency instead of scattering extra copies of the gift script across folders.

Use the result without spending the wrong item

Press O to switch the list between name and Primary Storage quantity sorting. Read the selected item and recipient before returning to the ordinary gifting interaction. The mod displays reactions; opening its lookup is not a gift delivery.

The author supplies English and Brazilian Portuguese text for the mod’s interface and says it supports the game’s existing language system. This does not establish that the mod translates all game dialogue or adds a new complete game localization.

For a proposal, use the romance planner to check hearts, Ring of Binding materials and gift-slot availability. A preference lookup does not bypass those requirements.

Compatibility and removal

The author lists testing with Loganxf Mod Loader and Hendrix Localization. Future game updates and arbitrary combinations are not guaranteed. If another inventory mod changes the same actions menu, compare the two authors’ instructions rather than treating one successful launch as proof that all features coexist.

To remove the gift tool, close the game and remove ~mods/ElderfieldGiftPreferences.mod.js. Retain modloader.js when other mods depend on it. Reopen the game and verify the ordinary inventory actions still work. The Mods directory provides the source link and separates this lookup from tools that change money, movement or item availability.
