Abby is the child in Town South Park who gives Shopper-Bopper. Accept the task, go to the Mall, defeat an enemy named Shopper, and return to Abby. The recorded completion reward is a Lesser Cursed Ring.

Abby is not the same task entry as Abigail. Abigail appears in the Town South house basement after the second stage of Skelekid's Tasks and later gives Artwork for Abigail. That separate route uses a Mana Muffin to obtain Ellie's Artwork. Keeping the two names apart prevents most “Abby quest will not continue” problems.

Use the task giver, place, and journal title together. A search result or subtitle that says “Abby” may be shortening Abigail, but the captured task table lists both names separately. This guide reserves Abby for the park character and Shopper-Bopper. The Mana Muffin recipe guide covers the food exchange used in Abigail's artwork route.

The broader character directory lists the main relationship characters and service NPCs. Abby is useful as a quest giver, but the available evidence does not place her among the nine marriage candidates or provide a reliable daily gift schedule. Do not transfer another child's schedule, gifts, or family relationship onto her to fill that gap.

Start Shopper-Bopper in Town South Park

Welcome to Elderfield town map showing major regions and route landmarks
Use the broad region labels for orientation; individual doors and key requirements are explained below.

Reach Town South and enter the park area. Look for Abby and read the character name before accepting dialogue. Pumpkid and other characters can also appear around the park, and their tasks have different consequences. Shopper-Bopper is the entry that says a child wants you to fight a Shopper in the Mall.

Before leaving, open the journal and confirm three details:

  • The title is Shopper-Bopper.
  • The task giver is Abby.
  • The objective says to defeat a Shopper in the Mall.

The wording matters because “Shopper” is the enemy name, not an instruction to attack an ordinary store customer. Do not substitute any random Mall fight. The completion condition is tied to the named enemy.

No item requirement is recorded for starting Shopper-Bopper. You do not need a Mana Muffin, artwork, or Skelekid stage for Abby's task. Those belong to Abigail's separate chain. If the task does not appear, focus on Abby's location, time, dialogue state, and existing journal entries rather than collecting ingredients from the other route.

The world map guide can help connect Town South to the Mall. It keeps ordinary navigation separate from treasure-map clues and identifies the Mall as a layered area with public floors, back hallways, and deeper routes.

Prepare for the Shopper fight

Welcome to Elderfield turn-based battle menu with Attack, Skills, Guard, Items, and Run commands
Use the command menu to choose damage, recovery, defense, or retreat one turn at a time.

Shopper-Bopper requires combat, so arrive with an equipped weapon and recovery supplies. The task record does not publish a required weapon tier, fixed level, or exact Shopper statistics. A responsible route therefore starts with the visible enemy and the player's current loadout rather than an invented minimum.

Use this preparation check:

  1. Restore HP and MP at home if they are already low.
  2. Equip the intended weapon instead of leaving a tool or weaker item active.
  3. Carry food that restores the resource your battle plan spends.
  4. Leave enough inventory space to recognize drops and the later ring reward.
  5. Preserve a save before exploring an unfamiliar Mall route.

The combat guide explains the turn-based menu, healing decisions, equipment checks, and why a harder fight does not prove universal enemy scaling. If the Shopper removes too much HP, inspect equipment and damage type before grinding without a plan.

Shopper-Bopper does not state that the first enemy encountered in the Mall will be a Shopper. Read the enemy name when combat starts. Defeating a different Mall creature can award experience or items but may leave the task objective unchanged.

Locate and defeat a Shopper in the Mall

Travel to the Mall and search accessible areas while checking enemy names. The task specifies the Mall generally; the captured evidence does not provide one permanent tile or guarantee that every version places the first Shopper in exactly the same room. Avoid publishing a false coordinate.

A controlled search is faster than wandering:

  • Begin in the public Mall area you can reach without quest keys.
  • Clear or avoid unrelated enemies while watching their displayed names.
  • Check adjoining accessible rooms in a consistent loop.
  • Reopen the journal after a named Shopper is defeated.
  • Stop searching once the objective changes to the return step.

Do not confuse Shopper with the Denizen of the Deep Fryer from A Fast Food Fiend, a Mall boss used to unlock Chef Elroy's later recipes. Both are Mall combat, but only the named Shopper advances Abby's task.

When the correct enemy is defeated, confirm the journal changes before leaving the area. If it does not, record the enemy name and task state. The fight may have involved a different enemy with similar appearance, or the task may not have been active when the battle began.

The evidence does not establish that a Combat Shrine should be used for this task. Shrine empowerment can alter risk and possible drops, but it is not part of the documented Shopper-Bopper objective. Complete the normal task first unless the current journal explicitly says otherwise.

Return to Abby and claim the Lesser Cursed Ring

After the objective records the Shopper defeat, return to Abby in Town South Park and complete her dialogue. The reward is listed as a Lesser Cursed Ring. The task is not finished merely because the enemy is gone; the return conversation is the reward checkpoint.

Before interacting, keep one inventory slot free. The captured material does not say what happens if the reward inventory is full, so there is no reason to test that edge case with a unique quest reward. After dialogue, inspect both the journal and inventory:

  • Shopper-Bopper should be marked complete or removed from active objectives.
  • Lesser Cursed Ring should be visible in inventory or the relevant equipment category.
  • No Abigail task should be expected to start from this reward alone.

Read the ring's current description before equipping it. “Cursed” in the name is a warning to inspect effects, not proof of one specific penalty. The available Abby evidence confirms the item name but not a complete, current stat line. Do not infer that it is automatically stronger or weaker than every existing accessory.

If the ring is absent, reload the post-fight save only after checking inventory categories and the completed-task log. Repeating the entire Mall search should be the last step, not the first.

Abby and Abigail have different quest chains

Abigail's route begins in a different place and after a different prerequisite. The task table says Skelekid is locked in a Town South house basement and provides two stages: defeat five Drippers, then defeat five Pipe Cleaners. Completing stage two allows Skelekid's sister Abigail to speak.

After that, Artwork for Abigail asks for artwork for her room. The recorded solution chain uses a Mana Muffin in an exchange with Ellie to obtain Ellie's Artwork, which is then brought to Abigail. Completion awards five Voidberry Seeds and one Soulfruit Seed.

None of those steps belongs to Abby's Shopper-Bopper entry. Use this comparison when a guide or video mixes names:

The distinction also protects keyword ownership: this page answers Abby; the Mana Muffin page explains the food and artwork exchange. It does not create two pages competing for the same quest.

Handle Abby's limited location evidence honestly

The captured evidence confirms Town South Park as the Shopper-Bopper task location. It does not provide a complete seven-day schedule, weather override, home, gift table, or relationship track for Abby. A missing character should therefore be investigated from the confirmed task state outward.

Try the following without inventing a timetable:

  1. Visit Town South Park during a normal daytime period.
  2. Check whether a festival or story event has moved park residents.
  3. Confirm Shopper-Bopper is not already active or complete.
  4. Leave the area and return after a normal time transition.
  5. Inspect nearby Town South screens without confusing Pumpkid or Abigail for Abby.
  6. Save and reload if the journal and visible state disagree.

Do not state that weather, weekday, or friendship guarantees Abby's appearance unless the current game supplies that information. The absence of a complete schedule is an evidence gap, not permission to borrow one from Molly, Edwin, or another character.

Avoid spending the wrong task item

Shopper-Bopper itself does not ask for an inventory item, but the surrounding Town South routes contain several task objects. Keep these separate:

  • Lesser Cursed Ring is Abby's reward.
  • Mana Muffin is an exchange item for Ellie's Artwork.
  • Ellie's Artwork is delivered to Abigail.
  • Voidberry Seeds and Soulfruit Seed are Abigail's completion rewards.
  • Mall F1 Hallway Key comes from Adrian's Tentacle Cleanup, not from Abby.

This matters because the Mall hosts many quest chains at once. Carrying the Hallway Key or defeating a back-office enemy does not advance Shopper-Bopper unless the named Shopper objective is satisfied. Likewise, finishing Abby's task does not unlock every Town South basement conversation.

If an old video shows a different sequence, compare its build date with the current task wording. Automated subtitles frequently merge Abby and Abigail, and a creator may use a shortened name casually. Visible journal text has higher authority than the spoken shortcut.

Record a useful bug report

When Shopper-Bopper genuinely fails, capture the task title, current objective, speaker name, Mall enemy name, reward inventory state, and game build. Include whether the save was created before or after recent task fixes. That information allows a progression problem to be distinguished from a name mix-up.

Avoid reporting only “Abby is broken.” A useful report says, for example, that Shopper-Bopper was active, a visible Shopper was defeated in the Mall, the journal did not update, and the result persisted after one reload. Do not repeatedly overwrite the only pre-fight save while testing.

The reliable Abby route is short: Town South Park, Shopper-Bopper, named Shopper in the Mall, return to Abby, Lesser Cursed Ring. The extra detail on this page exists to protect that route from the much longer Abigail chain, not to merge the two characters.

Combine the Abby trip with safe Mall errands

You can reduce travel without mixing objectives. Carry Shopper-Bopper as the primary task, then note any public Mall shop, food-court, or mystery objective that is already active. Complete each only when its own journal entry changes. Do not enter Adrian's back hallways merely because that route is nearby, and do not spend a named key on an Abby objective that asks only for a Shopper.

Before returning to Town South, review every active Mall task. A Shopper defeat may have produced loot useful elsewhere, but it does not replace the task owner's return dialogue. Reserve the direct route back to Abby while recovery supplies remain. This prevents an optional deeper fight from causing a defeat after the required objective was already complete. Back at the park, claim the ring first; other Town South conversations can wait until Shopper-Bopper is safely closed.
