Storage and Tools opens a storage menu with the 0 key and provides a separate Tools container. Empty that container before uninstalling the mod. Its contents otherwise become inaccessible through the removed modification, according to the author’s instructions.

Understand the two menu options

Open Storage calls the game’s existing storage event. Tools creates a separate container whose contents remain recognized as carried without taking ordinary inventory space. Despite its name, the author says this container also accepts other items.

Use the container deliberately. Put a replaceable tool inside first, then check the normal action that needs it. Do not make a rare task item your first experiment. Verify both access to the container and the actual action before moving more of your inventory.

This is different from inspecting the quantity in Primary Storage. The Gift Preferences mod reads that storage quantity for gift planning; it does not provide this separate carrying container.

Install while preserving the existing registry

No additional mod or resource is listed as required. The package contains StorageTools.js for js/plugins/ and a registration in js/plugins.js. The author offers full extraction and replacement, but also documents retaining the existing registry when other mods are present.

Use the latter method for an installation you already customized:

  1. Close the game and locate the folder containing its executable.
  2. Back up the current js/plugins.js and the save you plan to use.
  3. Copy StorageTools.js into js/plugins/.
  4. Add the author-provided StorageTools registration to the existing plugin list.
  5. Preserve the surrounding array structure and other entries.
  6. Launch, load the intended save, and press 0.

The script directory and registry file are separate locations. Copying a script does not register it, and a registration cannot load a script that is absent. If the game fails immediately after editing the registry, compare that specific edit with your backup before changing unrelated files.

Verify access before moving important items

Open the menu, inspect both options, and close it with 0 if needed. Move one ordinary item into Tools, retrieve it, and confirm its quantity. Then test one tool-dependent action with the tool stored there.

Keep the comparison simple: the same save, location and action before and after the change. Installing several convenience mods at once makes it harder to distinguish a container problem from a separate inventory or hotkey modification.

The author’s feature description is not a promise that every task recognizes every item in this container. Carry a required task item normally if the current interaction does not recognize it; avoid assuming a guide has established an untested exception.

Remove the mod in the correct order

First open Tools and move everything back into accessible ordinary inventory or storage. Confirm the container is empty before saving and closing the game.

Then delete StorageTools.js from js/plugins/ and remove its registration from js/plugins.js, or restore an appropriate registry backup. An older backup can omit mods added later, so compare its entries before replacing the whole file.

After removal, reopen the intended save and check the items you moved. Removing a menu does not automatically reverse transfers or other progress made while using it. If you already removed the mod with contents still inside Tools, the author’s warning identifies the access problem; this guide has not verified a universal recovery method.

The Mods installation overview explains overlapping plugin registries and distinguishes existing community packages from planned official support.
