Time Speed Slider - Longer Days changes the in-game clock, not movement or combat speed. The author’s Windows Steam package adds a Time Speed control under Options → General. Choose a slower day when exploration is the problem; it will also make clock-based processing take longer in real time.
This is a community modification by xVados. The instructions below reflect the author page reviewed October 15, 2026. They are not an independent test of the mod against every current game update or another installed modification.
Decide whether you need a slower clock
The documented slider runs from 10% to 100% in ten-percentage-point steps. Its default is 50%, giving twice as much real time per ordinary in-game day. Selecting 100% restores the original clock speed. Sleeping and scripted time jumps retain their normal behavior.
That distinction matters when planning a task. A longer day gives more time to walk, forage and speak to people before the clock reaches the next hour. It does not make a lost character easier to locate or remove a quest prerequisite. Use the beginner progression guide first if a missing tool or conversation is the actual blocker.
The tradeoff is clock-linked waiting. A processor that depends on game time also takes longer in real time. Slowing the clock is therefore different from making production faster. Choose the setting for the trip you intend to take, then observe the clock and one familiar processor separately.
Install the Windows Steam package
- Close the game and record which game installation you intend to change.
- Keep a separate copy of your current save and plugin configuration.
- Extract the author’s package and read its included installation notes.
- Run its Install.cmd for the standard Windows Steam location.
- For another location, change the GameDirectory default in Manage-Time-Speed.ps1 as the author instructs before installing.
- Launch the game and open Options → General → Time Speed.
Do not run an installer against a second installation simply because the first menu did not change. Confirm the folder Steam opens through Browse local files and compare that folder with the installer setting. An existing demo and the full game are different targets.
The author documents automatic plugin backups, but keep your own identifiable copy as well. A backup made after several changes may not represent the starting configuration you intended to preserve.
Check the slider before continuing your save
Adjust the control with the mouse, keyboard or controller. The author says changes apply immediately and save when leaving Options. Start with a familiar location, leave the settings screen, and check the clock rather than judging success by walking speed.
For a useful comparison, change only this setting. If you also enable another clock modification or a large convenience bundle, a changed day length will not tell you which component caused it. Write down the selected percentage when reporting a problem.
Compatibility and removal
The author supports existing saves and new games, but has not tested compatibility with other clock or Options mods. This guide does not extend that claim to Steam Deck, macOS or an arbitrary loader. Follow the package that matches your own platform.
To remove it, close the game and run its Uninstall.cmd. If an update removes the slider, the author recommends reinstalling; first check the package instructions against the updated installation. Avoid blindly restoring an old whole-game plugin registry over newer changes.
The Mods directory separates this clock tool from item menus, localization and storage tools. If inventory space is the problem, compare Storage and Tools instead of expecting a longer day to add carrying capacity.
