Welcome to Elderfield: Where to Find the Artist

Ellie is the artist you need for Artwork for Abigail. Find her around town, ask about her art, and bring her a Mana Muffin in exchange for Ellie's Artwork. Give the painting to Abigail to finish the request and receive 5 Voidberry Seeds and 1 Soulfruit Seed.

The confusing part is the name Art: he is also an artist, but he declines this particular request. Ellie is the person who can supply Abigail's painting. Her location changes with the time of day and weather, so checking the correct person at the wrong place can make the task look stalled.

Ellie’s location and daily schedule

Ellie's home is the boarded-up house to the right of the bus stop in the northwestern part of town. That landmark is useful when her daytime locations are empty. Use the town map to orient yourself before searching individual buildings.

These are possible locations, not a route she follows in the order listed. If she is missing from one spot, check another location appropriate to the current time. Searching only the streets can overlook her inside a building.

Two exceptions change your search:

• Rain or snow: check her home rather than relying on the normal outdoor schedule.
• A visit to your farm: Ellie stays there until midnight. Check the farm before making another circuit of town.

If you are approaching a time boundary, look at the clock again before heading to the next stop. Her evening search area differs from her daytime possibilities, and the house becomes the relevant location late at night.

Complete Artwork for Abigail

The task has three useful checkpoints: find Ellie, exchange the muffin, and return the painting. Keep Artwork for Abigail active in your task journal so you are following the request that unlocks the relevant conversation.

1. Speak to Ellie. Choose the response asking whether she is an artist: “Are you an artist, by chance?”
2. Ask for her painting. Continue with “...Can I have it?” Ellie offers to exchange her work for one of her favorite foods.
3. Get a Mana Muffin. Follow the Mana Muffin recipe guide if you still need to make one. The painting request requires the muffin itself, not just learning its recipe.
4. Return to Ellie with the muffin. Complete the task exchange to receive Ellie's Artwork.
5. Bring the artwork to Abigail. Claim the task reward after delivering the painting.

Learning the recipe does not finish Ellie's part of the request. You need to have the food available when you return to her. Likewise, obtaining the painting completes the exchange with Ellie, but the task still needs its final delivery to Abigail.

The muffin is the prerequisite for this guide; its ingredients and preparation belong in the recipe guide linked above. If the food is what is blocking you, finish that preparation before spending more time looking for another artist.

Art’s refusal and the correct quest route

Art lives with Jenn and identifies himself as an artist. During this request, however, he says he is too busy and tells you to find somebody else. His refusal is a clue to change the person you are asking, rather than keep searching his house for the painting.

The distinction is simple:

For general resident information, use the character directory. For this task, focus on Ellie's schedule and the muffin exchange. You do not need to complete a separate Art request to replace Ellie's contribution.

Check the step that is blocking progress

Ellie is not where you expected. Recheck the time, then account for rain, snow, or a farm visit. A daytime marker is not a guarantee that she remains there at night.

Ellie offers ordinary dialogue. Check that Artwork for Abigail is active, and follow the conversation response about being an artist. Simply finding her is not the same as starting the painting exchange.

Ellie keeps asking about the muffin. You are at the food-delivery stage. Get the Mana Muffin and return to her; asking Art again does not advance that exchange.

You already have Ellie's Artwork. Your next destination is Abigail. The artwork is the delivery item; making another muffin does not replace the final hand-in.

Seed rewards for the final hand-in

Abigail's completed request awards 5 Voidberry Seeds and 1 Soulfruit Seed. Those rewards follow the final painting delivery, so stop treating Ellie as the task endpoint once she has given you her artwork.

Before leaving the quest unfinished, check your inventory for the painting and your journal for the current objective. That tells you whether to search for Ellie, prepare the muffin, or return to Abigail.
