Welcome to Elderfield lets you choose an Old God allegiance on Sunday. The seven documented gameplay choices—Gatis, Delvek, Kaal, Daeus, Hagroth, Valtris, and Nezroth—each trade one set of percentage bonuses for penalties and unlock a distinct group of God Forge recipes. Choose for the build and objective you have now; captured guidance indicates allegiance can be changed on a later Sunday rather than being a permanent character lock.
Xxarteck appears in the lore as the God of the end of all things, but the captured gods record does not give Xxarteck the same Sunday bonus, penalty, recipe, and follower-room package. Do not count Xxarteck as an eighth standard allegiance without a current in-game choice proving it.

Read the percentages in the current allegiance screen before confirming. The table reflects captured community data from September 2026; it does not override a later patch.
Choose a Welcome to Elderfield god on Sunday

Go to the Church of the Old Gods and speak with the appropriate church interaction or Father Desmond on Sunday. Review the offered tradeoff before confirming. The exact on-screen wording is the final authority because the choice changes multiple stats at once.
Use this decision order:
- Identify whether the next objective needs physical damage, magic damage, survival, MP, speed, Luck, farming, or access recipes.
- Mark any penalty that directly harms that objective.
- Check whether the desired God Forge recipe is already obtainable with current materials.
- Confirm the Sunday choice in the current interface.
- Inspect stats after the change.
- Open the God Forge and verify the expected recipe group.
Do not choose only from the lore description. “God of Knowledge” sounds appropriate for every investigator, but Valtris specifically trades Max HP for Max MP and Magic Attack. “God of Harvest” supports HP and Luck but reduces both Attack categories. The mechanical row is more useful for a build than theme alone.
The combat guide helps diagnose whether the next fight is failing from damage, defense, MP, or a damage-type mismatch. Use that diagnosis before changing allegiance.
Gatis for Luck and Agility
Gatis is the God of the Moon, represented by a crescent moon and a many-eyed cat symbol. The documented bonuses are Luck and Agility, with a Defense penalty. That trade can suit faster, chance-oriented routes when the lost physical defense is manageable.
God Forge recipes include Opal Ring, Moonlight Shoes, and Cat's Eyes Necklace. Follower rooms are recorded in Greystone Estates, a randomly appearing cabin near the Old Woods mill, and Catacombs F3 behind a wire-cutter route.
Do not treat a follower-room description as guaranteed room generation. The Old Woods cabin is specifically described as random. Check the area's current variant and bring required access tools before concluding the room is missing.
Delvek for Luck and Max MP
Delvek is the God of Mystery, represented by a hooded figure. The documented bonuses are Luck and Max MP, with an Agility penalty. It can support mystery and ritual planning when slower turn order is acceptable.
God Forge recipes include Lucky Die, Cursed Die, Magnifying Glass, and Whip of Delvek. Follower rooms are recorded in Mall Mines F2, an Old Woods Mines F2 variant, and Catacombs F2 behind the rightmost of four breakable walls near the church entrance.
Luck influences mystery die rolls, but this guide does not claim Delvek guarantees a desired result. A ten-percent bonus changes the stat; it does not remove chance or prove one hidden formula.
Kaal for physical and magical defense
Kaal is the God of the Dead, represented by a skull. Kaal increases Defense and Magic Defense while reducing Max MP. This is the broadest documented defensive pairing, but ritual-heavy builds must account for the smaller resource pool.
God Forge recipes include Ring of Immortality, Bone Shield, and Bone Staff. Recorded follower rooms appear in a Mall Mines F3 worm-room variant, Old Woods Mine F3, and Catacombs F1 near the bone altar mystery.
The Catacombs walkthrough is useful for Kaal's thematic locations, but allegiance alone does not unlock every floor, breakable wall, or follower room.
Daeus for Max MP and Defense
Daeus is the God of the Deep, represented by tendrils and associated with the area below the Mall. Daeus increases Max MP and Defense while reducing Magic Defense and Luck. That can suit a physical-defense route with more ritual capacity, but it creates two separate weaknesses.
God Forge recipes include Lesser Holy Water, Greater Holy Water, Trident of the Deep, and Earring of the Dark Sea. Follower rooms are recorded near the Mall's broken elevator, Old Woods Mine F3, and behind the third breakable Catacombs F2 wall near the church entrance.
Do not assume Holy Water is universally beneficial as a gift. Captured character lists include characters who hate it. Forge a recipe for its actual combat or item purpose, not because the name sounds universally positive.
Hagroth for farming, Luck, and Max HP
Hagroth is the God of the Harvest, represented by pumpkins and jack-o'-lanterns. Hagroth raises Luck and Max HP while reducing Attack and Magic Attack. It supports survivability and chance-oriented farming or exploration but directly lowers both offensive categories.
God Forge recipes include Lesser Rune of Growth, Enchanted Pitchfork, and Straw Hat. Follower rooms are recorded in Mall Mines F3, a large-tree Old Woods Mine F2 variant, and Catacombs F1 at the top-right of the dining room.
The harvest theme does not prove that every crop grows faster or that Pumpkin Seeds ignore their eight-day timer. Use the pumpkin planting guide for confirmed crop rules.
Valtris for Max MP and Magic Attack
Valtris is the God of Knowledge, represented by a living book. Valtris raises Max MP and Magic Attack while reducing Max HP. This is the clearest documented offensive magic trade, but a smaller HP pool makes recovery timing and enemy damage more important.
God Forge recipes include Basic Skeleton Key, Small Mine Key, Forbidden Lorebook, and Starmap of Valtris. Follower rooms are recorded in a Mall Mines F3 ancient-statue variant, a small mine near the giant-statue version of the first Old Woods screen, and Catacombs F3 behind wire-cutter and breakable-door access.
A forged Basic Skeleton Key can be consumable and should not be tested blindly. The Skeleton Key guide explains named locks and the cost of using the wrong key.
Nezroth for Max HP and Defense
Nezroth is the God of Flesh, represented by hands and fingers. Nezroth raises Max HP and Defense while reducing Agility and Magic Defense. It supports physical durability but can make a character slower and more vulnerable to magical damage.
God Forge recipes include Blood of the Gods, Bloated Chestplate, and Finger Necklace. Follower rooms are recorded in Mall Mines F2, an Old Woods Mines F2 variant, and Catacombs F3 behind the second breakable wall to the right of the entrance.
Do not confuse the Flesh theme with the Flesh Girl enemy's actual weakness. The Flesh Girl guide records Insight as that enemy's weakness; following Nezroth does not automatically establish a favorable matchup.
Xxarteck is not a standard Sunday comparison row
Xxarteck is described as the God of the end of all things. The lore connects the nearby farm's life and growth with weakening Xxarteck's shrine. The captured page shows an Xxarteck cultist but does not list Sunday stat bonuses, penalties, God Forge recipes, or the follower-room pattern used for the seven choices above.
That absence matters. Xxarteck belongs in the lore section but should not be presented as a selectable build option without visible current-game confirmation. If a later update adds an allegiance, capture the choice screen and mechanical effects before inserting a row.
Follower rooms are access goals, not instant rewards
Follower rooms can appear in Mall Mines, Old Woods variants, Greystone Estates, and multiple Catacombs floors. Reaching them can require task unlocks, random room generation, wire cutters, breakable-wall tools, keys, or deeper-area access.
Use this checklist:
- Confirm the god and region.
- Confirm the mine or dungeon floor.
- Check whether the room is tied to a random variant.
- Bring the named access tool where the source specifies one.
- Preserve a save before breaking a limited obstruction.
- Record the room and contents in the current build.
Do not infer that allegiance teleports the player into the room. The allegiance unlocks a stat and recipe relationship; area progression remains separate.
The Old Woods route and Catacombs guide cover navigation. The treasure-map guide covers numbered dig clues; follower rooms are not substitutes for those treasure solutions.
Use the God Forge after choosing

After confirming allegiance, open the God Forge and inspect the recipe list. The captured source identifies recipe names but not every current ingredient cost. Gather materials only from the live menu.
Separate three states:
- The god is selected and stats changed.
- The recipe is visible at the God Forge.
- The recipe materials are owned and the item can be crafted.
Selecting a god does not place every themed item in inventory. Likewise, finding a follower room does not automatically learn every recipe. If the expected recipe is absent, verify Sunday allegiance first, then reopen the Forge and reload once before reporting a mismatch.
Switch allegiance without losing track of the build
Captured guidance says Sunday is the time to switch allegiance. Before changing, screenshot current stats and note equipment. After the switch, compare only the expected percentage categories. This reveals whether an apparent change came from the god, an equipped item, a blessing, or a curse.
Do not assume crafted items disappear when switching; the evidence here does not establish that. Verify inventory and recipe visibility in the current build. If a recipe becomes unavailable but a crafted item remains, record those as separate states.
Plan the switch around the next objective, not around collecting every allegiance in one day. A defensive god can support a boss attempt; a Luck-oriented god can support mystery or resource work; a magic god can support ritual damage. Return on a later Sunday when the objective changes.
Fix an Old God choice or recipe problem
| Symptom | Check first | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| No allegiance choice appears | Day is Sunday, correct Church interaction | Return on Sunday and finish the full dialogue |
| Stats do not match the table | Current build, equipment, blessing, curse | Trust the live screen and isolate other modifiers |
| Recipe is absent | Selected god and God Forge | Reopen the Forge after the confirmed choice |
| Follower room is missing | Floor, variant, task, access tool | Recheck generation and prerequisites |
| Xxarteck cannot be selected | No standard mechanics recorded | Treat Xxarteck as lore unless the game shows a choice |
| Switching seems permanent | Next Sunday availability | Preserve the save and verify the current Church state |
| Build became weaker | Penalty affects the objective | Choose a better tradeoff on the next available Sunday |
The best god is conditional. Gatis and Delvek share Luck but trade different defenses or speed. Kaal and Nezroth both improve physical Defense but reduce different resources. Daeus adds MP and Defense at the cost of Magic Defense and Luck. Hagroth supports HP and Luck while cutting offense. Valtris supports magic offense while cutting HP. Read both sides of the trade, verify the live numbers, and choose the option that solves the next real problem.
Keep an allegiance test record
Before Sunday, note base stats with equipment and status effects unchanged. After choosing, record the seven affected categories, the visible God Forge recipes, and the next encounter result. Repeat the same check only after another Sunday switch. This separates allegiance from a newly equipped item or cleared curse and provides current-build evidence if a percentage differs from the captured table.
